Match downloaded items to QuickBooks transactions. When QuickBooks downloads bank data, it tries (among other things) to find a match with any QuickBooks transactions you created manually. If it finds a likely match, it lists the transaction in the Recognized tab and displays the word 'MATCH' in green in the row. To delete a downloaded banking transaction that has been matched to a transaction in QuickBooks without deleting the QuickBooks transaction, you must unmatch the transaction from the Banking page or the Bank Register before deleting it. You can also delete matched transactions from the Register or the transaction window. When you delete a matched transaction in this way, both the transaction and the downloaded transaction are deleted and no longer appear in the downloaded transactions area. Unmatch transactions from the Banking page. • From the left menu, select Banking. • On the Banking page, select the In QuickBooks tab. Make sure the correct bank or credit card account is selected. • Locate the downloaded transaction to unmatch and, in the Action column, select Undo. To unmatch multiple transactions at once, select the checkboxes of the downloaded transactions to unmatch and select the Undo button that appears Tip: To find transactions easily, you can select a column header to sort the list by the values in that column. Unmatch transactions from the Bank Register. • Select the Gear icon on the Toolbar. • Under Your Company, select Chart of Accounts. • Locate the appropriate account for the transaction. ![]() • From the Action column, select View Register. • Select the transaction from the register and select Edit. • Select the Online banking matches link above the Payment date field. • From the pop-up dialog that appears, select Unmatch. After they are unmatched, transactions move back to the For Review tab where you can categorize and add or match them again. Delete matched transactions from the Register. • Select the Gear icon on the Toolbar. • Under Your Company, select Chart of Accounts. • Locate the appropriate account for the transaction. • From the Action column, select View Register (or Account History). • Select the transaction to delete and select the Delete button. • Select Delete Both to delete the transaction as well as the downloaded transaction from the bank. The transaction and the downloaded transaction are deleted and are no longer displayed in the downloaded transaction area to be rematched. Delete matched transactions from the transaction window • Select the Gear icon on the Toolbar. • Under Your Company, select Chart of Accounts. • Locate the appropriate account for the transaction. • From the Action column, select View Register. • Locate and select the transaction to open it. • Select the Edit button. • In the transaction window, select More, and select Delete. • Select Yes to confirm that you want to delete the transaction. Both the transaction and the downloaded transaction are deleted and are no longer displayed in the downloaded transaction area. • Monitoring alerts, data downloads, and feature updates are available through the end of your membership term.
